Been aging this for a couple years. Figured my 40th birthday was a good occasion to break it out.

Literally found on its side in my closet. Drinking at 51 degree ( I couldn't wait). Huge notes as expected.. lovely finish.

From last night. Even though the flavors have mellowed out over the the last two years it's still a solid stout.

Enjoying for the first time what any #AUburn alumni are experiencing a #1 ranked basketball team. Working at Duke 30 years I met Duke coaches and players, pulled for 4 National Titles, but as an AUburn alumni, our AUburn Bball guys take the cake #WarEagle

Past its prime, all flavors muted but some barrel and a lingering maple sweetness. Maybe barrel-aged stouts should be consumed fresh too.

Age helped this. Better than I rememeber roast has fallen off more. Get more sweetness from the maple.
