Black Rye

Rye Beer

This beer will surprise you with a big hop flavor and a toasty sweet aroma. Pours black from the chocolate and de-bitterized black rye malts. This ale is medium bodied and is well flavored with hints of toffee, nutty undertones and a dry crisp finish.

Okayish, but I don't think I fully appreciate flavour.

Rye spiciness in the aroma. Taste has a lot of roastiness along with rye. Smooth mouthfeel, medium-ish body with medium-low carbonation, presumably from being nearly 6 years old. Very unique beer. Definitely glad I got to try it. 3.75/5

Huge head at first, but dwindled before 1/4 the glass was empty. Still left decent lacing. Suprisingly sweet aroma. Citrus and apple. Flavors were a little more malty, some nuts, but mostly hops. Nice citrus flavor and a decent dry finish.

NR. This was sitting on a back shelf in my cellar. Was off-putting due to oxidation.
