2.5.19, super roasty nose, dark brown with dense tan foam, strong coffee with smooth chocolate sweetness, super roasty with bourbon in the finish

Gotta love finding an oldie at a bar/restaurant. Too bad I had to drink it too cold. Didn’t use the frosted mug they gave me. WTF! Still a banger, flavours were front and centre, nothing seemed subdued.

So funny that I use to fight and call around to just get a single 12oz bottle of this. Now I’m buying it on clearance and has been sitting on the shelf for 4 years. Game has changed, but this still remains a decent and consistent shelf option 78

The last one in the cellar 😢. Held up pretty well and much better than the gold print on the glass (the dishwasher was not its friend … oops). Still had a great mouthfeel + ☕️❤️. It’s going to be a long afternoon cooking and drinking this bomber.

The flavors are a bit muddled or maybe subdued. A bit of chocolate in the nose. Coffee and some booze flavors. As it warms the bourbon flavor becomes more pronounced. A little underwhelmed.

Sista flaskan. Kaffet är såklart borta sedan länge sen, men fatlagringen känns fortfarande och mkt lakrits. Lite surt, men inte så det stör. Grym doft som sig bör vid lagring av stout 😋

Bourbon has mellowed a lot and the chocolate and coffee are way more pronounced. Glad I cellared for 4 years

The bourbon notes have mellowed over time, but still plenty of great chocolate and coffee notes on this one. Still a great beer.

On right. From 2/6/2019. Still well carbonated. Wood prominent, plenty of chocolate, and some coffee, finishing with a bourbon bite, though not hot. Quite different from the 7.5 year-old 2016.

Tunn espresso med farinsocker, lite molass och vanilj. Ganska mycket kakao. Vag hint av bourbon. Väldigt len.

Got this beer for my Grandpa 4 yrs ago becuz he wanted to try more dark hvy beers and I kept seeing it in his beer fridg upon each visit and he’d tell me “I’ll try it eventually” he never got the chance So now I will enjoy it tonight in his honor. Cheers.

Out from its hidey hole for pre pre birthday time. Very smooth, strong chocolate action, booze fire has tempered down to a pleasant bite.
