Surprised at how well this turned out. Lot of bourbon and vanilla, not much of the ipa

From Memory: Still one of the best Imperial IPA's I have had to date only because of the Bourbon barrels used. Aromas of grapefruit, orange, vanilla & Oak. Taste reflects the aroma, slight caramel & subtle pine to round things out. Not good after a year.

Reached into my deep storage! A little over 3 yrs old. The hop bitterness is still there, although a tad subdued, along with some sweet malt with vanilla/coconut notes from the barrel aging. Very good!!!!

17-5-3 vtg, ~3yr,5mo/o. Continuing to be in that well aged sweet spot. Complex and delicious.

Smooth sweet and deceiving, the wood aging hides this reaper well. A classic ipa flavor with a big payload in disguise. Surprised how well this one aged.

Can't remember where i found this. After 3yrs in the cellar is mellowed. Very well conditioned and balanced. Oak notes complement the hop bitterness. Alcohol warmth, but not boozy. Bourbon on the back. Very, very nice.

Cellared over 3 years. Nice barrel aged flavor... wish they’d make this again. Would be nice to have another fresh one

The beer fridge purge continues, with some more 2017 booze. I’m freezing right now, but I have a feeling this will warm me up shortly.
