KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge

Stout - Imperial / Double Coffee

Michigan didn't invent old-fashioned fudge, but it was perfected here. We pay tribute to this time-honored tradition with KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge. By amplifying the rich chocolate notes of KBS using Mackinac Fudge coffee, then adding maple syrup and aging it in oak bourbon barrels, we've created a bold new take on our barrel-aged classic - one that could only have originated in Michigan.

Coffee nose. Cold, get an almost dark chocolate hit with coffee finish. Warm, it's all coffee, perhaps a bit too much. Don't really get any maple.

In the nose I pick up on fudge, chocolate, coffee, and hints of barrel. After the first sip - maple syrup comes through more as it finishes. I'm drinking this at room temperature. It's worth picking up if you're able to buy a single bottle. It's too sweet

Didnt go into this with High expectations. I was surprised by the result. Body is Thicker than I thought it would be. Smells like Boozy Chocolate Milk & Maple syrup. Nice Barrel that doesnt overpower the adjuncts. The fudge is in there as well 🍻

First on the nose is KBS,Coffee. The barrel is strong, but the chocolate and maple produce a smooth and nicely balanced version of KBS. Coffee is still somewhat dominant. one of Founders' best brews.

Mack-nificant. Not as boozy as other KBS’s due to the high chocolate flavor. Would love to see this again after 6-12 months.

Nails the coffee, as usual for KBS. Also, muted bourbon as usual. Fudge only appears as it warms, was hoping for richer and more cocoa. Barely noticeable maple, which is how I prefer maple. Of course, all of the above better as it warms.

Good stuff. I like the blend of the fudge and maple and coffee. Works very well. Not as sweet as CBS as I recall. I'd go about 4.6 - 4.7 on this. Solid but seems thinner than some of the older Kbs. Probably more of the mass production at play.

Really like the nose on it. Wish the coffee was a little less bitter to let the maple and chocolate shine a bit more.

Wow! A bit of coffee, a bit of milk chocolate, a bit maple, and a bit of dark heavy fudge. 11.0% that is a bit prevalent but not over the top.

Very sweet. Lots of chocolate, maple, coffee is subtle. Dry finish a little boozy. Some oak flavors as well. Very complex. Really well done. But wouldn’t want more than one bottle.

Boozy as hell but man.... I would love to own an air freshener made from this. One of the best smelling beers ever. Plenty of that fudge up front and then you can barely seek out the maple in the tail end. Super creamy and very chocolate milk like. Yummy!
