Bottled 20/07/2017. This one tasted really good. No overpowering currant flavour this time. Delicious sweetness

Tasting quite barleywiney. Toffee, caramel, a little biscuit, whole lot of oak, and even more dark fruit, maybe a tiny but too much, otherwise it'd get that 4.5

Yep! A few years in the cellar did this one some good!! Mellowed out nicely for a smooth, deep, toffee finish. Cheers!

Sitting on the patio with a bonfire going. Beautiful evening and sipping on a 2017 Backwoods Bastard. Doesn’t get much better than this.

Like a red ale! The big booze punch is so muted now. At room temp too. Little carb left, of course. But all the big cedar and smoky toffee is here mate

Aged amazing. Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

Smells of scotch with a sweet caramel. Taste is heavy, peaty scotch that mellows out into sweet caramel. Finishes with a dark fruit taste almost black cherry. Age has done this wonders

Still a bit boozy after 3 years, definitely get some vanilla. Really smooth.

Pretty tame beer a couple years out. Maybe a little flat. Meh. Should still have booze in it.
