I almost passed on this but I'm glad I didn't. Vanilla doesn't always do it for me but this is like some fine, french vanilla ice cream. They really struck an interesting balance with everything going on. Maybe the best new Founders brew since Better Half

Dark chocolate and chocolate malt, maple and vanilla. No barrel or bourbon at all. Creamy lactose mouthfeel. Tasty beer even without the barrel aging notes.

Can't tell if it's awesome or mediocre...hmmm. I'll split the difference and lean a little to the awesome side cause I can taste the maple. I expected more but not that let down either. It's like a purgatory of BBA porters...but a smidge better 😅
