Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Johnson
Amazing brew. I hear they're finally making more. I can't wait. Happy new year y'all.

Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA Johnson
I'll be damned but Utopias turned out to be much more complimentary to 120 than it was to WWS, not that I didn't enjoy that one. It almost feels like these two were made for each other. All the Utopias notes go hand in hand with the best bits of 120.

So it's SeaQuench with a different fruit profile? Hard to complain about this one.

Wake Up World Wide Stout Johnson
Vintage bottle section was a bit thin but I guess that's how off season is. I went ahead and grabbed a bottle of this since I couldn't get a lot of other World Wide options but I can't complain. Coffee and maple are always welcome in a strong stout.

Loving this. Tart enough with lots of dark fruit notes and enough malt backbone to really sink your teeth into.

90 Minute Imperial IPA Johnson
Had to go with the original to see how it paired with the 90 Minute cheese they got here and turns out? Pretty damn well.

Last beer to share with Grey and Lew before they go back to college so I figured we'd go Olde School. They definitely approved and with 6 years in bottle, it's not hard to see why. Not nearly as harsh as she was in her younger days.

My last shift drink as a bouncer at a bar. This was my go-to end-of-the-night drink for a while and I will be drinking a lot less of it going forward. Definitely better on draft.

Had to commemorate the night by opening something special when I got home. I've never had RDX aged this long before and it's gotten to the point of tasting like liquid jolly ranchers. I'm not at all mad about it.

Curmudgeon's Better Half Johnson
Got the beta request button tonight and I found out I have a 99/100 score. Things are looking good so I had to open something special to commemorate. Can't open this without checking in either. My last bottle of an amazing beer that I'll miss.

01/22/16. Holding up fantastically well. I was pleasantly surprised by the newly expanded vintage beer section. I'm not going to pass on a chance to buy a bottle of this. It's been a long time.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Johnson
I really hope they announce a 2022 release for this.

I almost passed on this but I'm glad I didn't. Vanilla doesn't always do it for me but this is like some fine, french vanilla ice cream. They really struck an interesting balance with everything going on. Maybe the best new Founders brew since Better Half

03/22/18. Just about 3 years old and delicious. Covid makes it hard to share beer and I usually buy 2 cases of Dogfish danger cap beers every year. Now I have to drink them by myself. I mean I'm complaining but I'm not complaining, you know?

Started a new routine today and I'm having this as a post-workout shower beer. It's basically perfect for that job.

90 Minute Imperial IPA Johnson
I'm having pizza for dinner as a reward for a hard workout and I still feel like 90 Minute is one of the best beers to pair with a good pie.

I felt it was a little too early for the nightcap so I'll sip on this for a while.

Staying in Michigan for the nightcap tonight. This new situation where you can buy cases of KBS whenever for less than $100 or about $4 apiece really makes you reevaluate which beers are worth spending $4+ on. Used to be twice the price. Just as nice.

World Wide Stout (2016) Johnson
A well aged World Wide Stout is perfection in malt form. Once it's aged into it's pocket, there is no improvement possible. 4 years seems to be enough.

I heard a nasty rumor that this one is being discontinued. Surely not, right?

04/08/16. This is absolutely lovely. Peak aged 120 Minute IPA is still as sublime a beer drinking experience as any other out there. You can say it's not a real IPA. I won't argue with you. I don't care what it is. I love it.

Such a smooth ale. Post boil hops really give it the nose and the tongue without the bitter.

Don't like it quite as much as the Helles but still a solid, brewed to style effort.

Well this is just lovely. I'm getting that smoked wheat, coffee and vanilla. Lots of oakiness from the new foeder. This is exactly the kind of thing I hope Dogfish's brewhouse exclusives would be.

90 Minute Imperial IPA Johnson
6 months old and still an enjoyable beer. I didn't mean to hold it so long. Still, all this malt is saving this IPA from the drain. I still have yet to have a 90 minute that was too old to enjoy. Not that I'm trying.

Nightcap. Public service announcement: when you buy it by the case, KBS only costs $4/bottle. How many better beers can you get for that price?

Something that may or may not have been said before but I'll say it here: KBS pairs well with blunts. Legal in MD, baby! 🤪

I keep forgetting how good this is. It's like I doubt my memory of the last time I thought it was so good. Probably because it's so different that it doesn't scratch a particular itch. 🤷🏼♂️ Gotta be one of the best widely available year round brews.
