Complex. When cold, almost no taste but still bitter. Clearly light pleasant aroma. Woody and roasty. When warmer, sweetness appears, esp in the aftertaste. Long aftertaste with bitterness. Very bitter and strong

Not bad for a barleywine. Carleywine wasn’t a fan but that was expected

I should have started with this one, but it’s a solid barley wine. I bought a few extras to put a bit of age on.

Tough decision between 3.75 and 4.0. More like a 3.9.

Definitely a bit bitter. Nice flavors but the bitterness kind of throws me off a bit.

The hops.are piney and bitter, more than you'd expect for a barley wine. Great malt, aroma, and body

Mildly malty barleywine with resinous, piney bite on the back end. Smells like a barleywine, but tastes a lot like a black IPA. Definitely hoppier than most barleywine I have had.

Still disappointed with Founders regarding the allegations of racism & wrongful termination … and they sold out. A good barleywine though … roasty, malty, caramel sweet.

Bready and caramelly aroma with some piney hop aroma and flavor. Roasty finish that is kinda out of place and detracts from it.
