Nemesis by Founders. Bottle Shop Series. Barleywine with a nice level of sweetness and an overwhelming amount of bitterness that lingers. Too bitter for me.

I christen my new Yeti The Gray Ghost. Now you see the beer and now you don't! 11.2% though, I picked the wrong week to stop drinking beer.

More black IPA than barleywine, but decent, and for 11.2% the price was certainly right.

More of an imperial stout than a barley wine, I'd say, but good still!

Different take on a Barleywine with a lot more bitterness...similar to Dirty Bastard in that regard. Good, but was expecting a little more from this one.

Hop forward and bitter. Roasty. Not what I was expecting from a barley wine.

Not too bad. Toasty, roasty. Hops forward. Fairly intense, but a good time

Can’t believe I never checked in this brew over the years. Solid 3.75

Well, it’s an American Barleywine. It’s a fairly tolerable one, though. Gotta drink it fast before it warms up and hates me.

My first ever barleywine! I'm not sure what to make of it, it is quite unique! Sweet and boozy like a stout, but hoppy and bitter like an IPA. Pretty good stuff, although not my most favorite lol

A stout and an IPA mashed together. Not unpleasant, but a weird mishmash of flavors. A different brewery would really dick this up but Founders made it potable.

Boozy and sweet but not sugary. It’s a bit light which is a good thing in this case.

Nice & smooth with an interesting malty very strong boozy flavor. Ok with our grilled cheese burgers.

Presencia más oscura y de aromas más suaves sabor que combina más con el amargor de los ibus

Lot going on high octane bitter hopped decent malts lil rough on taste but not awful considering the strength

Rich, musty nose dank with a lot of roasted and even charred malt. A touch of heat to this one and I like the bite. Fun find and an elevated barley. A nice sipper leaning a touch one note.

Thought I would give this another spin. Def boozy and tart. Needs some time to temp down. See ya next year.

Pours darker than any barleywine I've ever seen, topped by full, thick head. Strong, deep start leads to a smooth malt body. Drying finish is a boozy mule-kick of slightly bitter roasty hoppiness. Complex layering but a bit too dry for my palate.

Goût très malt / malt toasté, caramel brûlé, pin, sucre brun et plantes médicinale en fin. Moyen amer.
