I think the bartender accidentally made us an actual old fashioned

Flavor explosion on the taste buds. Really good. All the old fashioned flavors are there.

I like this better than the Bells old fashioned. This is more beer with hints of the cherry and orange peel. Very good!

The cherry and orange are the stars here. Full sweetness from the cherry and tartness from the orange. The barrel is very minimal, you get more heat from it than flavor.

Had many a old fashioned in my lifetime… this, in my humble opinion is not it. But it’s not bad

Clear medium brown pour with lingering offwhite head. Caramel and very mild cherry aroma. Dark caramel with cherry and mild citrus notes, long acidic dark caramel finish.

Not the best beer to have on a 90 degree day but had to try it since it’s a taproom exclusive. The barley wine was excellent with hints of orange and cherry. Very smooth with a nice lingering finish. The barrel notes are not over powering. Well balanced.

Very nice, lots of orange right up front in aroma and flavor. Not always a fan of the "old fashioned" flavored brews, but this one is a different story. Well done!

Interesting. Definitely cocktail-like. I think I like it, but a taster size is plenty.

Shockingly citrus. The orange notes come through at the forefront with a more standard boozy bitterness afterwards

Strong citrus notes. Very fruity. A bit boozy, but not like... hot

I'm honestly surprised at the lack of beers taking cues from cocktail mixology, especially when they can be as well done as this. The bourbon and vanilla toffee flavors are lifted by the cherry and orange additions to give a lot more life to this brew.

Old Fashioned Barleywine by Founders. Bourbon barrel-aged barleywine brewed with orange zest and lemon-drop hops, finished with tart Michigan cherries. A collaboration with GVSU’s Design Thinking class. Boozy, smooth, and sweet. Really fine!
