It’s like a stout that’s trying to be a barleywine. A little thin. Pretty good, but This doesn’t taste like a barleywine.

Very interesting barleywine. Doesn’t have that typical barleywine taste, has more roasted grain and hop notes.

Reminds me of Bigfoot with the hops-forward profile. Aftertaste not great. Prolly a 3.85 for me.

An excellent very dry very hoppy barleywine. Not boozy at all. Don't know what everyone else is thinking.

Excellent. Pure Founders. Bitter, sweet, tasty, 11%.

Malty. Even slightly hoppy. Not bad and would certainly drink again but won’t go out of my way to buy again.

There's a lot going on and it all just seems to clash in a not so pleasant way.

Not bad, expected more traditional barleywine. More woodsy, bitter flavor similar to a black IPA.

Pleasantly bitter. Not your traditional barleywine. The roasted barley is very prominent. Hints of charred molasses, black licorice, and a toasted hop presence that carries through. Resembles a strong black IPA.

Rough mismatch of flavors. Sweet, malty nose fully offset by monster hops throughout. Really dry/warming finish. Seems less like a BW and more of a cuvée of random strong shit. Low expectations and still disappointed.

A: slightly like wine with slight IPA mix T: like a thick, dark, intense stout at first, but instead of chocolate or coffee, it end on a slightly fruity ipa haze flavor. Seriously tastes like a thick stout. Definitely some malt liquor tastes aswell.

I forgot this was a barrel-wine. Caught me way off guard😂. After discovering it was not a stout, I was able to enjoy the flavor and appreciate the hop after taste and malt, roast finish.

Wow. Didn’t realize the alcohol % was over 11%. Very smooth. Probably fall asleep afterwards

Nice hoppy take on a barley wine. Not as boozy as some barley wines!

Nice and balanced. Not overly boozy as some can be. Nice biterness

I can't handle these 11%'rs anymore....dial it back once in a while. This one is nothing special

Acidic, Roasty, Bitter. But absolutely delicious and smooth. Never thought I’d say all of those together. But yeah, this is delicious. Check the video for our full review!

hop bitterness with subtle floral notes, vague dark fruit candy sweetness, moderate malt presence.

Solid American BW. Approachable for people who haven't had the style. Reminds me of the good ole days drinking OG nemesis at Oasis with Andrew

Reminiscent of Bowser's Spring cleaning beer where they combined all their extra hops and malt.

Not a bad barleywine. Kinda more subtle than I might expect. Curious how this one will age.

I was surprised that this said barleywine with roasted malts but then it tastes kind of hoppy. I’m not a fan of IPA’s. This is leaning that way.

That’s a sneaky abv! Not usually big on barleywine, but this has a nice hoppy/sweetness

For a founders beer, this was incredibly boring and bland IMO

Big hop aroma/taste but I’m not sure the base of the beer is all that good. This was a tough call between 3.75 & 4.0
