Oktoberfest K.

Backlog. I think this was from the last couple of days in July. Definitely the earliest I’ve grabbed. Made quick work of the 12pk.

Nemesis (2021) K.

Wanted to try this for awhile, but it’s like a cross between Bigfoot and 120 min. Too much American bwizzle. Needs some barrel and some Werther’s 🤷

Backwoods Bastard (2022) K.

Backlog. Old 4pk on sale couldn’t resist. Use to love this back in the day. Still pretty solid.

Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA K.

Backlog. I thought this was just still gonna be 120 with maybe a little something extra, but I was shocked how much I enjoyed this. That Utopias barrel gives this a whole Bwizzle dynamic. Would definitely grab again.

Chocolate Cherry KBS K.

Backlog. Much better then I thought it would be. Rich chocolate and roasted coffee flavor and nose. The cherry is subtle and gives it a lightness when you drink it. Pretty good.

Wake Up World Wide Stout K.

One tick closer to the let’s take a break point. Respect for DFH for what they’ve done in an increasingly hype local market. Yellow yield cap let’s you know what you’re in store for. Big booze. Medium big black coffee. Minor maple. Fun beer.

Ultimate Oktoberfest K.

Shifty. Nice bourbon character. Oak & vanilla. It works with the base flavor wise, but dominates any idea of this drinking like a Marzen. Still fun tho. 3.75+

120 Minute IPA (2020) K.

I use to buy this every year. Just one, to keep me right. Whatever the beer trend is, 120 comes in to say f*ck you. I got away from that, but I’m glad I got an old one. The OG go f*ck yourself beer as good as ever.

Bottle Shop Series Belgian Twist K.

Give me some more damn bubbles?! Two in a row that really could have used way more carb. Decent Belgian flavors, but the agave nectar sweetens it for no reason. Plus it knocks down those good Belgian funky vibes. Not bad, good ABV, but meh overall.

KBS Hazelnut K.

I’m all for hazelnut, definitely my favorite coffee creamer, but there’s a tough astringency to it once it warms up. Every KBS variant, I think starts out better then the base, but this one falls flat faster then the others.

Backwoods Bastard 2021 K.

12.10.21 bottle date. Had that BA scotch ale last night. Made me want to revisit an OG. Still very solid.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) K.

Since anything that’s “big” craft beer is so damn divisive, I’m just gonna be real here. Gimmicky yeah maybe, but I’ve never had the luxury of having Utopias (not for lack of trying to hustle every rep). This is fun. Strong Ale > Stout. Dry, sherry vibes.

Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout (2017) K.

Cheers Britt! Last time I had this you gave it to me. Do you just have a secret rep closet full of these? Really mellow, but better then I remembered.

Velvet Rush K.

Real talk. It’s basically Underground Mountain w/ chocolate, about half the body and zero barrel. Redeeming quality. The coffee is super clean and easy to crush.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa K.

I’ve been a bigger fan of the variants then regular KBS, but this isn’t as good as Mackinaw or Espresso. Definitely reminds me of one of the Epic Baptist stouts. Cinnamon, vanilla for sure. Coffee & Chocolate not really. Barrel, HA what barrel?

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) K.

Bottled 3.12.18. I remember distinctly, this was the year that I was over KBS. Again, time has done no favors. Black coffee bitterness holding on. Zero chocolate, base seems even more watery. Little to no barrel heat. Another purge beer.

Backwoods Bastard (2017) K.

9.28.17. Purging everything I shouldn’t have held onto. Had a ‘16 explode all over my counter last night. Thankfully the ‘17 is at least drinkable. Semi-muted, raisin/bourbony, but not in like a good Bwizzle way. Drinkable, but a shadow of its former self

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2016) 12.4% K.

Bottled 2.16.16. Gotta continue purging this stuff in the cellar that I should have never held onto. Hard falloff. Definitely some oxidation, not fully cardboard, but stale. Coffee is only bitterness, dark chocolate powder, bourbon heat still there.

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) K.

5/21 bottle. Year round. Idk, I definitely have more hate them love w/ KBS, but overall it’s an ok primer level BA coffee stout. More or less what I expected, cheers Doug.

Más Agave Premium Hard Seltzer Lime K.

Yeah I just don’t think I like the agave nectar or something. Oddly sweet. Semi floral nose.

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter K.

Orange soda nose, some sweet cherry upfront. Not really BA forward, but it comes with each sip as it goes down. Idk about any brown ale base. Any of those characteristics are lost w/ the adjuncts. Fun beer, but PWs old cocktail series destroys this. 3.85+

Beer To Drink Music To K.

Haven’t had one of these since like ‘16. Would have been better if it was a Belgian Tripel again. Very light juice, minor peach & salt. Not bad, just not enough of all of it.

Hazy-O! K.

Get one fresh work sample and that means the other must not have much time left on it. I’ve had a ton of Oat-IPAs pretending to not be a regular hazy, but oat milk, that’s a new one on me. Slightly juicy, but still just tastes overly malty 🤷

60 Minute IPA K.

Shift beer / work sample and the sample can is actually fresh...miracle. Still an OGIPA

Bottle Shop Series: Nemesis K.

Rough mismatch of flavors. Sweet, malty nose fully offset by monster hops throughout. Really dry/warming finish. Seems less like a BW and more of a cuvée of random strong shit. Low expectations and still disappointed.

Panther Cub (2021) K.

Night cap. Wish it was something better, but at least it’s strong. Not feeling the use of vanilla extract. Seems like a cheap out. At least the maple is really subtle.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge K.

These KBS variants have been better then KBS imo. Super rich, slightly salty, rich stout. Almost no maple which is fine by me, semi bitter coffee. Easy/middle body, no ABV or Barrel heat. Excellent sipper.
