Interesting, first barleywine I've tried. Not sure I love the style, but very drinkable.

Had higher hopes, but a mixed bag...hop power, moderate bitterness, and yet a distinct lack of caramel malt BW notes. It’s fairly harsh, too, and I’m not convinced empirically that aging will temper it. Underground Mtn. Brown it’s not. Come on, dudes.

A lot different than any barley wine I’ve had. More hoppy than sweet. Sharp, not smooth. But REALLY good.

Nice malty, caramel and dark fruits flavors. Mildly sweet, and a nice mellow hop bitterness. Good one.

Starts off with a sweetness and nice dark fruit notes. It begins to mellow to strong malt and caramel flavors. It ends with a bitter finish that slightly lingers and a light boozy aftertaste.

Thank you Dave L. It's a rough beer to rate. I can see a range for people who like this style from 2.5 to 4.

Last night. No rating....drain pour. This was the nastiest, bitter beer I've ever tasted. Assume bad bottles.

Not really the right beer for 80. Wow was stuck in the office all F-ing day. Ipa for dinner after this big bastard. It’s big and very filling, boozy as hell too

Roasty sweet with nice but not overwhelming hop bitterness. Balanced, solid barleywine.

Strong barley wine brew with roasty malt flavor. An acidic bite on the finish Nice.
