Pretty impressed with this malty, very malty creation by Founders. Almost a 4.25.

I had already planned on drinking this but decided to do my rear brakes first. Well that was a mistake. And a very fitting beer... barely got one side done. Also this is really tasty and the ratings seem like people don’t like hoppy barley wines.

Hoppy and thick. Not the best choice for this 80 degree day but still tasty.

Black color with a light tan foam. Barleywine beer with heavily roasted malts. Hint of red wine and chocolate. Starts smooth and ends dry.

Solid American BW. Approachable for people who haven't had the style. Reminds me of the good ole days drinking OG nemesis at Oasis with Andrew

Nice and balanced. Not overly boozy as some can be. Nice biterness

Excellent. Pure Founders. Bitter, sweet, tasty, 11%.

It’s like a stout that’s trying to be a barleywine. A little thin. Pretty good, but This doesn’t taste like a barleywine.

This barley wine is a little bit darker than most of the ones I’ve tried but overall it is an excellent complexity. It is fairly dry compared to many barley wines that I’ve had in the past.

Roasty barleywine. The roast malts are big. Slow sipper.

As a barleywine lover I can say that I have never tasted such a roasty version. As it warmed the complexity really shined.

Tasty barleywine, darker than expected also finishes with an unexpected burst of pine-hops

So great to see it back! “ The Bottle Shop Series is a tribute to the folks who supported ragtag brewers across the country when craft beer was in its infancy. When beer enthusiasts sought out innovation through big flavor, in-your-face complexity and...

Team happy hour. 11 percent creeps. Happy Earth day. Very smooth.

Great! I feel it's been so long since I've had a barleywine. Maybe wish for more caramelly.

A lot different than any barley wine I’ve had. More hoppy than sweet. Sharp, not smooth. But REALLY good.

Rich and boozy with an interesting balance of malt and bitter.

It's got a pretty light flavor, in a peculiar way. Or it's that I drank an imperial stout a little bit ago. No matter, this beer is amazing and I need to get another one to age.

Nice dark caramel malt notes with a solid hop bitter balancing it. Not too thick and boozy.

Fuck me, my fun little welding project on the pontoon boat has turned into a job. This beer helps, malty, hoppy American barleywine, raisins, nice. I'll get it though.

First appearance a stout. On taste, an immediate sensation of bright hoppy (almost floral notes) paired by the toasty backbone in mouth feeling and flavor. At the end of the sip, typically place holder for the aftertaste of alcohol, replaced by barley

Borrowed on 3/8/21. A lot hoppier than I thought it would be, a pleasant surprise for sure
