Oude Geuze Boon à L'Ancienne - VAT 92 Mono Blend (2016) ✴
LCi. Rainy day mono blend tasting. Used base Boon Geuze as a reference while sampling the 4 mono vats. The batches were brewed in ‘14-‘15, all corked in ‘16, maturing in cellar since ‘17. - Mono Blend? Isn’t that an oxymoron?

Oude Geuze Boon à L'Ancienne - VAT 110 Mono Blend (2016) ✴
LCi. High carb, funkiest of the Discovery Box (Vats 91,92,108,110). What a great sensory experience! Lends real insight into a blender’s mind and how these vats each hold specific personalities that are meshed to create consistent world class geuze.

Oloroso Sherry Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA ✴
LCi. Served still. Brown sugars, dark fruit (plums and raisin), leathery good oxidation traits.

Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2020) ✴
Enough beer geek firepower to chub up even the most jaded new wave connoisseurs. Enjoyed multi bottle$ of ‘20 & ‘21 over holidays. Nice job of getting the Utopias spirit to express through a gorilla sized stout. Brewery conglomeration pays off for once.

Hard to believe they have never mass released a straight ahead pils before. Lager is not their specialty. Sam sez Saaz, but this seems a US styled pils not Czech. It drinks fine, if a bit hoppy.

LCi. Enjoyed. A modern iPA that still drinks like a beer and not a fruit drink.

LCi. Delicious- rare use of oranges. Light, highly drinkable, low funk, minor acidity.

LCi. Nice as far as Lo-Cal goes. Stovepipe cans FtW. Great nose of hops.

So great to see it back! “ The Bottle Shop Series is a tribute to the folks who supported ragtag brewers across the country when craft beer was in its infancy. When beer enthusiasts sought out innovation through big flavor, in-your-face complexity and...

Release #008. $10 for a fruited Lambic interpretation? Very fair, DFH. LOVE the peach painted collar as an ode to traditional Belgium lambic bottle markings.

02/15/13. Murky syrupy body. Bold hopping rate persists with a US #BiL profile gliding beneath. Very little off flavor oxidation, 120 has legs for the long haul.
