So mellow! Toffee and barrel still very present. Absolutely no strong alcohol burn. Aged amazingly.

Getting better. Coffee and not over the top bourbon. Almost maple like sweetness

The fine folks at Founders sent me a wonderful assortment of KBS bottles years ago and I’m cracking the last bottle today. Thanks, guys!

Round two making roasted marshmallows and ashtrays there’s just something about a fire pit that just warms you up.

The last of the vintage…I’m assuming this is the last of the “South Dakota” stash. I believe this beer lived in North Dakota (in my work bag), Denver (house & apt) Lubbock (closet) & Midland! Hard to put them “in the cellar” when you constantly move!

Fun side-by-side with 2017 breakfast stout. No surprise BA is holding up much better. BS is bitter chocolate, KBS has nice subdued barrel presence

Wow. Can't believe you were still holding on to this, pops. Thanks so much for coming to see us and Emeryk in the hospital. Love you so much. A fitting brew for the Celebretory afternoon. Cocoa, vanilla, & rich earth.

Starting the 17s now from the cellar. Has fallen off, but more noticeable barrel than 16 was last week. No ratings change.

By now the booziness has mellowed out. Very heavy on the coffee notes, slightly bitter finish. IMO CBS definitely ages better.

Vanilla dessert. This has been sitting in my basement for the last 4.5 years. Delicious.

Ship has mostly sailed here. 6 bottles left from the 36 or so that I bought back in the day. Purchased from the LCBO on the same day we bought our first ever car! Still a decent base stout if a bit thin now, and not much left of the adjuncts.
