Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter

Brown Ale - American

They don't make 'em like they used to... or do they? The bottle shop series is a tribute to the folks who supported ragtag brewer's across the country when craft beer was in its infancy. when beer enthusiasts sought out innovation through big flavor, in your face complexity and revered quality above all else. This series is for you: the distinguished beer connoisseur still seeking the revolution that energized the industry we know today -- that settles for nothing less then the very best!

I could do this again with a nice smoke. Slighly boozy and a little fruitiness.

One of the more unique barrel aged brews I've had in a while. Bourbon notes compliment the cirrusy notes quite well. Sweet but not too rich

This is really delicious and different. There is a smooth, cocktail booziness to it. There's definitely some caramel and vanilla present. It's not sweet though like a dessert. The orange peel flavor is subtle and there's a hint of stone fruit. Fantastic!

A cherry beginning with a chocolate orange finish. Another amazing beer from Founders.

This is very good as a cocktail beer. Some sips are fresh cherry, orange and bitters with a solid bourbon base. Others are malty caramel base beer. This might be the freshest cocktail taste I have had in a beer.

Mild brown ale meets old fashioned. Vanilla is strong followed by citrus and touch of cherry. Very unique.

Bourbon. Vanilla. Caramel. Toffee. Brown sugar. Sweet. Boozy.

Ale aged in bourbon barrels with orange peel and cherry. Super interesting. Smells like a booze, tastes like a caramel-y, vanilla-y booze/beer hybrid.

Pretty good approximation. Much more refreshing than expected. Spices and barrel with citrus and cherry. Strategic bottle placement on the photo

It’s really tasty, but it should have bigger bourbon/alcohol flavors for what it is. Not as boozy as you expect from an 11% beer. That’s probably a good thing for some but not for my preference on a bourbon beer

The bourbon notes don't overwhelm the bitter orange and hints of cherry, so the result is something unique rather then just another over-bourboned dark beer. Nice one!

Why is this rated so poorly in comparison to their other BA stuff? It’s pretty damn good and definitely tastes like an Old Fashioned. Seems like a success to me.

Tried to check in first one Thursday but untapped wouldn't let me login. I like this beer, I hop it gets added to the regular brew roster as it could be one of my annual favorites.
