Just saw KBS is celebrating 20 years. It’s the big stout that started my admiration of the style. Cheers to 20 years of hunting all around town for a bottle or two or sending my Dad if release day fell on a workday. Glad they’re easier to get now!

It’s quite a bit more mild having sat for 7 years. Still delicious!

I don't think aging helped this much. Clearly, the coffee is more dominant.

Probably only has a few years left. Roast, maple, coffee, and caramel. Vanilla hints.

Deep flavors with dark, heavy roastiness, but not overbearing. A bit too sweet. Smooth and balanced for this ABV and big flavors.

Might be getting a little long in the tooth. Oxidized cardboard, odd fusal with a slight sour, almost soy sauce . Dry chocolate on the finish. Slight warming, but odd touch of diacytl along with the dry finish. Rated low because it didn't age well.
