KBS with the black cap. Still holds up well, thick, still slight hints of the barrel. Aged well!

Bottled in 3/2/16. Before kids. Before wife.... Good beer. Issa sipper

This was fantastic…the booze mellowed out and left flavors similar to S’mores. So freaking good. Only regret? Not having another!

Strong coffee and chocolate flavors with a good molasses and dark fruit backbone and some bourbon in there. 6+ year old beer. It’s still incredible.

Delayed post from 3/17. A 2016-2020 KBS vertical. 2016 was the winner, with 2020 coming in a close 2nd.

Unlike some other Founders beers, this aged just fine, even after 7 years. Fairly smooth but alcohol is still present. Lots of coffee. Hints of bourbon, though that is somewhat diminished.

Been a while since I had one of these! Mostly bourbon tasting now

Just seemed like the right day for this one. This bottle has outlived 2 beer fridges. 7 years old.

Hard to imagine that I have any left from ‘16 but I scored over a case from a small town VT store that didn’t know what they had back in a time when you could barely buy one bottle most places. Has gotten more winey than bourbon. Time to drink up 😕

I’m certain that they changed the barrel process after 2016. Note the black cap in the picture. I think I only have a couple left.

Not sure if it’s because it has aged for so long, but I forgot how god damn good KBS used to be. The new batches have nothing on this.

It’s still really good. Chocolate has remained, the ABV bite is gone. #LGRW

Still holding up. A little flattened but not much oxidation. Enjoying the subtle changes time has made

Christ-Al-Mighty! Cocia, cocoa, wood, and some more cocoa in the smell. Smooth, glorious woody body with a solid barrel flavours of coconut and vanilla. Awesome aftertaste, dark chocolate, some more vanilla... my God, what an experience.

Back from the 1pp days and refrigerated the whole time. Still kicking and more like a 3.75 but will keep it a 5

Just saw KBS is celebrating 20 years. It’s the big stout that started my admiration of the style. Cheers to 20 years of hunting all around town for a bottle or two or sending my Dad if release day fell on a workday. Glad they’re easier to get now!
