I’ve never had a hoppy and bitter Barleywine. I’m not a fan sadly. I do like that it’s boozy and malty though. The bitterness is just overwhelming.

Meh. Could be the fact I just got done eating dark chocolate and poured the Nemesis into same glass I had Utopias aged World Side Stout in. Either way this beer leaves a weird after taste at the moment.

Bottled 3/9/21 I love me some barleywine, but I think this was past its prime.

Certainly smells of the percentage, but keeps things balanced with some raisiny sweetness. Hops add a bit of west coast bitterness for an interesting finish.

Doesn't really have any barleywine character. Not a bad brew but not awful.

Didn't realize it was an 11% when I bought it. Too malty and strong for me.

Good and robust. However, there were a few too many moments where I got a cough syrup vibe.

big caramel malt on the front end, sweet hoppy bitterness on the back end. eating cheese with the next one of these.

Barley wine van gebrande mouten met de duidelijke geroosterde smaak. Verder alcoholisch en een flink hopbittertje

Strong coffee intro. Bitter and smooth, big choco feel, then bringing up the rest is the barley wine “sting”. It’s really good.

Pretty solid. A little more bitter than I expected but not bad.

Boozy and rich like a barleywine should be. Subtle fruit and a slight roasted notes come through.
