Velvet Rush

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

Borrowing elements from both high-end craft cocktails and moody jazz clubs, Velvet Rush takes the bourbon barrel-aged brown ale up an octave with free-flowing notes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla extract. Milk sugar aids in weaving together this complex tapestry of flavors to create a unique sipping experience that really ties the room together.

This was absolutely delicious. Well done. Hope it becomes a long term shelf item.

Sweet and very chocolaty, no alcohol bite for an 11 percenter.

A deep tawny brown pour yields an intense bouquet of chocolate truffle and coffee. A midweight body is full of dark cocoa and hazelnut, which transform into spicy vanilla and sugar. The finish is long, but fades smoothly.

Very tasty beer! Coffee, vanilla, and chocolate flavors come out well. Imperial brown is a nice change up.

I’ll match you on this one Tim. What an impressive bourbon barrel aged brown ale, quite different than most brown ales with the added chocolate, coffee & vanilla flavors. 11.1% ABV doesn’t hurt either.

Wasn't sure I'd like this but the coffee isn't too much. So much other stuff in here. Vanilla, milk sugar, chocolate. Really smooths out after it warms.. Another fine mash-up from Founder's. 11.1%

Flavors work together well for such a big beer. Bourbon is subtle. Coffee and vanilla lead the way.

Light toasted caramel malts, chocolate, vanilla, coffee hints light bourbon notes, lactose. Not bad but not as interesting as you would think for a big brown barrel aged brew from Founders. Lighter then you would think for 11% also, not bad but eh

Brown ale really is one of the best platforms to pickup all the additions. Chocolate aroma, sweet vanilla coffee finished with malty woody dry finish

Silky smooth...Coffee and cream (the vanilla extract I'm guessing) and a huge bourbon nose. Absolutely delicious.

Subtle coffee, chocolate, and barrel aging. If an 11% beer can be mellow, it’s this. Real nice.
