Velvet Rush

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

Borrowing elements from both high-end craft cocktails and moody jazz clubs, Velvet Rush takes the bourbon barrel-aged brown ale up an octave with free-flowing notes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla extract. Milk sugar aids in weaving together this complex tapestry of flavors to create a unique sipping experience that really ties the room together.

Nobody can do a boozy brown ale like Founders! Chocolate, coffee, vanilla, add a subtle 11.1% and you’ve got urself a nice, sippin beer to watch the VOLS beat the Commode-Doors! GBO! 🍊

Dry finish, kind of thin. More like a barley wine. Nice amount of barrel flavor.

I haven't liked many of Founders recent Barrel Series beers. They've been too sweet. Was worried this would be as well because it had a very strong chocolate smell. But the taste is much more coffee forward. It's actually balanced pretty well!

Dufter lidt tynd, men masser af chokolade og vanilje, alkoholen varmer dejlig, total nydeøl en kold vinterdag.

Deeeeeeeeeeeeelish... very stout/porter like. Creamy, oaky, with chocolate, coffee and vanilla notes. Well balanced sweet to bitter.

Coffee notes really pull this together and prevent it being too sweet. Among Founder's imperial brown ales I personally prefer Underground Mountain Brown, but this is a great alternative that runs sweeter and more velvety.
