Frootwood

Fruit Beer

We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture that lingers for not a moment too long.

Really like this one. Not overpowering with the cherry, and a really nice taste.

For a fruity beer this is not bad, maybe is the tastes of the bourbon barrels and maple syrup which enhances its taste.

Pretty good. Watching the “The Shining”. I met the author years ago.

Delicious. Tart and lightly sweet cherry, depth of flavor from the maple and bourbon barrel notes. Kind of like a kriek but less Belgian spice, more cream ale smoothness.

2021 version. Had this stuff once B4 in 2017. Likes it then and still do. Not overly sweet, nice tartness, creamy mouth feel. Could use a touch more carbonation. Very good.

Sweet and fruity, with a BBA-esque vanilla finish. Even though it’s only 8%, I’m not sure I would drink more than one of these in a session

11.09.21 1847 6. Ruby-amber w/ white head; ok lacing and retention. Very sweet. Cherries, vanilla, maple finish. Semi-tart

Like a fruity maple syrup. Strong enough to keep you warm for a 14 minute walk home with a real feel of -5

Wasn’t sure what I was getting here but pleasantly surprised. Sweet, tart, and the oak, maple and bourbon are subtle but add what makes this enjoyable. Almost as enjoyable as yesterday’s ice bath, the first of the year and a real shrinking experience. 🥶
