Big chocolate nose. Creamy. Hazelnut coffee. Little barrel. Dry stout like. Interesting and tasty. Easy drinking.

6 Year Barrel Aged Lizard of Koz V
Last bottle. Probably a good thing as I'm getting a very slight oxidation. 6 years in a barrel, little over a year in my basement. Blueberries almost gone, little barrel.

This is very good. Slightly floral, some sweetness, clean, fairly dry. Nice.

So good. Just a whisper of malt but mostly fresh, clean, fermented hop juice. Perfect

I'm not as much of a Founders fan boy as I was but, this stuff on tap now and the 2023 Harvest Ale are both top notch. Thankfully someone there still knows how to brew great IPA.

I think the first time I had this was 2013. Whoever brewed this batch is a wizard. Excellent.

10.2 abv this time. Just when I'd about given up on Founders. Glad someone remembers.

Nice hop bite. Initially thought there was some weird juice/extract thing in the finish. Kinda sweet towards the end.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2022) V
Probably not the Cool Kids fav anymore, but I like the bitterness. Bitter cocoa, bitter coffee, pepper, barrel. I'm not a kid.

Probably my next favorite coozie. Don't think these guys have ever made a bad beer. Mean Societe. But can't buy it here.

I'm using this iteration because I had 2 of these in December of 2013 but used the non-dated version. Is that legit?. Only checking in new beers. Who really cares. At this point, I don't.

Bottled 4/14/21. I didn't drink this stuff when it was new. Should have.

Raising a glass the old days. Miss them a lot. All we wanted to do was drink beer. Pliny? Close. Maybe not dank enough. But close. Thanks Jeremy.

Super clean and clear. Pretty good. Obviously missing the impact of a higher abv, but still hits the notes needed.

Much softer than the Virgil. Less hop presence. Less offensive I guess. Actually like the Virgil better.

I'm not sure, but almost tastes like there is extract in this. Probably not, but same vibe initially. Sweet stone fruit, some citrus, juice. Finish is not a strong point. Overall okay.

This is excellent. Wish we had a case. Bottled 10/28/21. Raspberry, citrus, slight barrel. wow.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022) V
Bottled 8/9/22. Still plenty of maple and the familiar KBS bitterness. Chocolate evident through the finish mostly with a baking cocoa like bitterness. Previous sweetness is subdued, overtaken by the Imperial Stout profile. KBS roots showing through.

This is really quite good for under 5%. Must be some Citra in here. The Hazy name might distract. Tasty, lower abv, hop forward IPA.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) V
Surprisingly tasty still. More complex than many fresh beers of the same genre. Excellent.

This is really good. Similar to Reds but slightly dryer and more bitter. First time I've had 2 of the same beers here awhile.

This is still excellent. Bottled 4/14/21. Almost a cocktail. Alcohol, bitters, lime, sugar. Really good.

Weird light color. Less malt. More IPA like than normal. Disappointing. Hopefully not a new normal.

No banana/Belgian I can tell. Barrel, light Old Ale, jack & coke, bitter but sweet.

Optimistically Early Spring Wheat V
Not a straight Wheat Beer. Seems fruity. Tasty.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022) V
Bottled August of 22. Creamy. Definite KBS bitterness with more chocolate. Slight maple. Little barrel.

In general, the draft version of this stuff is better than the can. But @~$1.00/can it's hard to complain.

Somehow, this fairly sweet beer still makes my wife sneeze. Must be some hops in this. Excellent.

Last time I had this was 2013 according to Untappd. Sticky sweet, boozy, fine. Thanks John.

Well, it's a good try, but basically a compromise that doesn't satisfy the old school "C" hopheads nor current Hazy pillowheads. I'm in both groups and find this a nice try but ultimately unsatisfying.

Tasty, hop juice forward IPA. Cracker malt, semi dry. A bargain at ~ $1.00 per can.

Touch of sweetness to start, followed by clean dryness. Some hop bite to finish. Very good.

6 Year Barrel Aged Lizard of Koz V
Nice blueberry bite. Actually fairly light, slight alcohol evident. Dark fruit in the finish. Better than the original IMO.
Very similar taste profile to the Breakfast Stout I just had but, boozier, less chocolate, more bitter. Especially in the long finish. Remarkably consistent.
Under appreciated IMO. Rich flavor, creamy, solid bitterness. 15 years ago it might have been thicker, more Stout like, but remarkably consistent over the years.

6 Year Barrel Aged Lizard of Koz V
Better than the original stuff IMO. Not as much medicinal notes. Vanilla, chocolate, berry, barrel. Split a bottle with John. That was enough at one sitting.
