I think I liked this more in theory than in execution. It’s so sweet and fruity it borders on tasting like a mixed drink with a goofy name. I get no bourbon, little syrup, just an artificial cherry flavor. Pass on a second round.

Never thought I’d ever score a Founder’s so low…the concept is there and the potential is immense. However there is a strange rounded butteriness that is almost nauseating. I’m having a hard time with this one…

Cherry front, rolling red through wheat, bumping a hop, but finishing clear.

Wasn’t sure what I was getting here but pleasantly surprised. Sweet, tart, and the oak, maple and bourbon are subtle but add what makes this enjoyable. Almost as enjoyable as yesterday’s ice bath, the first of the year and a real shrinking experience. 🥶

Smooth & Sweet. Reminds me of the Kentucky Nip I used to drink as a kid, only with a Kick!

You can definitely tell it was in bourbon barrels. Really good!

Has a strong cherry flavor up front that is shortly followed by the sweetness of the maple syrup. This is a nice fruit beer that is a little sweet.

Sweet smooth cherry flavor. Not what I expected, but very tasty. Tasted like less sweet cherry soda. Definitely don’t taste the 8%!
