Frootwood

Fruit Beer

We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture that lingers for not a moment too long.

Strong bourbon nose, but the beer didn’t really pan out. I could do like 5 oz of this, it’s too sweet overall. Maybe I just didn’t know what I was getting into, it is a fruit beer

Super sweet, bright, some tartness on the back end. No real ba taste that I detect. Weird. Ok

Wow. A lot of cherry! Not tart at all. Sweet. Cherry is even stronger as it sits but still not what I would say is tart. But this is LOADED with flavor. Not boozy at 8. Nice. Fruity. Smooth. Of you like cherries you’ll love this sweet cherry pie!

This is a cool concept, and I was hopeful for a great outcome. Ultimately the cherry is medicinal and the beer doesn’t offer much depth. A bit disappointing

I think I liked this more in theory than in execution. It’s so sweet and fruity it borders on tasting like a mixed drink with a goofy name. I get no bourbon, little syrup, just an artificial cherry flavor. Pass on a second round.

Kinda cough syrup like. I'm really wondering how we're this far in a pandemic before I remembered I had this glass...

Not sure on this one. Nice a fruity and bit of the barrel makes it through.

The bourbon and the sweetness from the cherry balance perfectly. I can actually drink a small one of these. Mikey likes it.

Slight bourbon nose. Slightly thick and mouth feelly. Good. But nothing I’m going to scream and shout about. Probably my least favorite of the bourbon barrel series from Founders.
