I’m heartbroken these asshat sellouts changed the branding of this beautiful beer.

It’s back, baby. At least it feels that way. Pours motor oil black with tan lacing. The nose is a cocoa and coffee, with hints of bourbon. The flavors are deep, dark and complex. Oak and char against vanilla and milk chocolate. Bourbon warm finish.

Was gifted a KBS & had some fun with it. Really helps to take the boozy edge off.

Bottled 1/31/22 -crazy fresh, new label. Yes it’s thin, but there is a ton of coffee and a ton of barrel. It’s fine

Hides the high alcohol content very well. As good as ever.

Amazing to think how far craft beer has come. This OG used to be sold by the single bottle (if you were lucky enough to find it at that hole-in-the-wall in bumfuck North Carolina around the ides of March), and is now a shelf turd at any ol' Whole Foods.

It’s finally here! I think this has a decent balance between the coffee and the cacao, but I’m not finding either flavor presenting particularly strongly. Nor, too, is the barrel truly dominant. Balanced, yes, but a bit muted.

Slight bourbon on the nose. Typical dark stout color. Not as sweet as in the past versions. A bit of a disappointment.
