Pours a beautiful semi-hazy yellow with white head. The nose is sweet with a tiny bit of funk. The peach hits! What a beautiful flavor, full and fresh, with a bit of salty finish. Green Zebra variants slap!

KBS - Chocolate Espresso Fiore
Pours darkness with brown head. Strong dark coffee nose with a little bit of chocolate. The espresso hits HARD and wakes you right up, with a milk chocolate finish that smooths everything over. Medium bodied, with a masked ABV like most KBS. Superb.

Pours a slightly hazy orange mango color with lingering white foam. Very juicy citrus nose, sharp, the fruits that bite you back. Definitely pineapple striking first, with some mango and orange before the hoppy bitterness finishes things out. Refreshing.
Pours a golden hazy honey with thick white head. Bready nose with a surprising touch of banana. Very unique flavors, with sweet malt and banana, but not like artificial banana flavor you get sometimes. Medium body, great carbonation. A solid tribute.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Fiore
When you watch movies like Shin Kamen Rider, sometimes a good brew helps.

Now that’s a sweet fruit brew. Pours a reddish plum with pinkish head. Very sweet and tart ale, cranberry and orange peel forward. There’s a bit of vanilla and oak finish, but not so much bourbon. Full bodied brew, good carbonation.

This one is striving for an elevated level beyond normal Green Zebra, but something is off with the flavor balance. Really strong sweetness upfront that sort of falls off into a salty funk. Refreshing on the first few sips, not much more to say.

French Toast Bastard (Barrel Aged Series 2022) Fiore
Breakfast in a bottle. Cinnamon heavy, with balancing malt and vanilla sweetness. Bready, warm and boozy, with scotch smoke and fantastic barrel flavors. This is a brew I’d recommend everyone get their hands for flavor experience. Superb Founders brew.

Found this beautiful brew and boy am I happy to give it a try. The years mellow out harsher coffee notes, revealing deep milk chocolate and enough booze to punt you to the moon. An experience and then some, World Wide Stout never fails to deliver.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2017) Fiore
Definitely on an aged beer kick. Found this beauty in my dad’s fridge. The maple comes forward strong, with the coffee muted. The last great year of CBS, really.

Backwoods Bastard (2014) Fiore
The crazy stuff you find at HopCat! The years have mellowed the surly nature of this brew into something far more pleasant. Toffee and charred oak with hints of bourbon. Flavors are heavy dark fruit and caramel, scotch warmth and a syrupy full body. Wow.

Liquid darkness with tan-white lacing, and a big chocolate nose. You already know with KBS you’re getting a solid stout, but now we’re in uncharted cherry territory. A slight fruity sweetness that offsets the darkness, tart. A refreshing spin on a legend.

Pours that beautiful clear Oktoberfest amber, white lacing, and the first sip is a straight-up punch in the mouth. This brew has bite, from the alcoholic force to the barrel oak, semi-sweet malt and heavier body. This one caught me by surprise.

Pours a very hazy yellow gold with white lacing. Mango and pineapple nose. Everything you love about 4 Giants, but definitely hailing from tropical lands. This one strides tall with mango, pineapple, and blood orange. Fantastic twist on 4 Giants.

Beer City Dog Biscuit I “Paw” A Fiore
Well that’s a surprising brew. Fruity nose, guava, maybe pineapple. Taste is sweet forward with resin and pine finish. A solid IPA, entirely crushable thanks to moderate carbonation and a lower ABV. Definitely a summer style brew.

Game of Thrones - Iron Anniversary IPA Fiore
Enjoyed this one out of the drinking horn as advertised. Slightly tropical nose, hazy yellow color with good head. Lighter bodied but explosive in flavor with tangerine and pine. The finish is more IPA expected, resin, bitter bite. Solid brew.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Fiore

The pour is clear, orange-gold with white head. Nose of salt and sour funk. Lighter carbonation against a very sharp body. There’s some watermelon sweetness against sour tones, with sea salt coming through on the finish. A superb gose every year.

Curmudgeon’s Better Half (2018) Fiore
Found this treasure buried in the back of the beer fridge. It’s had some time to mellow and mature, and my what a beer it has become. The nose is sweet caramel and maple. The taste is bready, malty, almost French toast. The bourbon is only warmth. Wow.

Bold, aggressive, gigantic in everything it does. Pours hazy lighter orange with white head. The nose is pine and orange juice. Malty sweetness and tropical notes are balanced against a hoppy, resin bitterness. Not boozy, but this giant will surprise you.

Pours reddish amber and clear with white head. Malty nose with some spiciness coming through. The flavors hit sweet and citrusy on the front. Definitely grapefruit. Backs off into caramel and spices on the finish. Not overly sweet. Dry end. Good brew.

Belgian twist? Yes, it is indeed a Belgian twist. Great malt and caramel notes with a little bit of funk. Some lemon comes forward, adding zest and sweetness against the Belgian goodness. The brew finishes well, not bitter, inviting more. Fantastic.

Brandy Barrel-Aged Big Luscious Fiore
Black-red pour with reddish lacing. A definite wine-esque brandy nose. A big brew, Big Luscious gets the usual raspberry fair upgraded with brandy alcoholic goodness. Chocolate is sweet and on point for the finish. Definitely a great night beer.

Underground Mountain Brown (2019) Fiore

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2022) Fiore
It’s back, baby. At least it feels that way. Pours motor oil black with tan lacing. The nose is a cocoa and coffee, with hints of bourbon. The flavors are deep, dark and complex. Oak and char against vanilla and milk chocolate. Bourbon warm finish.
Pours a clear cherry red, white lacing, no surprise there. The nose is wonderful cherry, sugary. The maple and the wood balance out what would otherwise be an overly cherry affair. Oak and maple turn it into cherry syrup with some bourbon warmth. Grand.

Probably the hardest-hitting IPA I’ve ever had, and will ever have. Dark amber pour with white head. The brew assails the nose with alcoholic vapors, and the mouthfeel is a small flame. Malt collides with the strength of the hops in an epic duel. Fierce.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Fiore
The deep darkness of KBS, with tannish lacing. The nose is bold and strong cinnamon and vanilla nose. The flavor is the strong coffee you know and love, but supporter by sweetness and spice or a different variety. Smooth cocoa finish. What a beer.

Pour is a rich clear brown with a whitish-tan head. Pure brown coffee nose. Velvet smooth mouthfeel with coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Milk sugar sweetness gives it a good morning vibe. Well-balanced fantastic brew overall.

Nitro Unity Cinnamon Coffe Stout Fiore
Nitro smoothness with a 1.5” head. Deep dark black. Nose is dark roast. Flavor is strong coffee with a cinnamon backbone providing from offset to the dark roast. Extremely smooth from start to finish. A bit bitter, but what do you expect from dark roast?

Barrel Aged Quad Pro Quo Fiore
Amber-brown pour, clear. Big boozy nose with peat and a bit of funk. First thoughts? It’s strong. Incredibly strong. Candy sugar, brandy sweetness. Very warm from start to finish. It’s a sipper, so take your time and enjoy.

Pour is deep yellow with a white head. Piney nose, less tropical. Taste is a solid resin bitterness and with lesser citrus notes. For a one-shot this is definitely a must-try. Experimental hops have me wondering what went in to make it this good.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Fiore
2019 CBS brings out more of the coffee of KBS, with a maple nose from the barrel. I admittedly miss the maple, but it’s hard to fault the brew overall as a breakfast stout. Surprised I had missed this one before.

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) Fiore
Coffee-forward nose, which has been the direction KBS has been moving. A little more boozy than last year, with chocolate tones fighting against the astringent alcohol. The barrel finishes warm. Even going full-production, this brew is still solid.

Pour is reddish-gold with white lacing. The nose is a strange mix of spicy ginger and sweet guava. The taste is a bit of a complex wrestling match, with both flavors vying against the rum barrel. It can be difficult to piece anything together.

A beautiful blending of beer and mead, this brew delivers on expectations. Bountiful honey nose, with faint blueberry tones. The flavor is big blueberry against honey mead, with good carbonation. Sweet finish to this brew. Happy with the braggot!

Pours a dark lemon yellow, with a strong whitish-yellow head. Nose is above citrus sweet, sharp, pleasant. Taste is piney and juicy, with ripe lemon and resin coming through. Finish is bitter, but not overly. Terrific summer beer right here.

Founders Old Fashioned Barley Wine Fiore
So much like an Old Fashioned my brain took a moment to register it was a beer. Nose is whiskey, with a bit of orange zest. Tastes superb, and the booziness sells the spirit. This is a must try from the GVSU collab.

Taste the passion. Beautiful golden color with a full white head. Nose is funky, salty. Taste is explosive, white grape, passion fruit, lemon zest. Finish is very crisp and dry, almost like a white wine. I’ve had this one for awhile, well worth the wait.

This has all of that “traditional lager” goodness, with some strong happiness but otherwise a crisp and refreshing experience. A brew that can set a bar for sure. Very happy to pick this up and try it. Happy King’s Day.

Pours a deep yellow-gold with good head. Nose is a bit of plum and orange. Flavors are lighter citrus and stone fruit followed by slightly aggressive bitterness. Very refreshing, somewhere between juicy and dry. The werewolf has some bite at 6.9%.

Barleywine in body, but with an evil soul. Pour is dark mahogany brown. Nose is strong booze and heavy caramel. Complex tastes, mostly malt but with some peat, blackstrap molasses, and a heavy-handed bitterness from start to finish. An enemy indeed!

Beer Geek Vanilla Shake Barrel Aged Bourbon Fiore
Deep dark black with tan lacing. Strong bourbon nose, with vanilla riding out. Taste balances sweet bean vanilla against dark coffee, and chocolate finds a place. Vanilla takes center stage as it should. Bourbon warmth and booze finish. Mikkeller ftw.

Maple Barrel Aged Frangelic Mountain Brown Fiore
Pours deep dark brown, almost black with white lacing. Nose is maple syrup coffee, like there’s a creamer present. Very complex,3-tiered experience, starting with sweet maple. Move to roasted brown coffee, then finish with smooth hazelnut. Superb brew.

Pours as dark as the horse on the bottle, with a never-ending tannish-white head that grips the glass. Coffee nose and CBS characteristics but the nitro is where it’s at. Unbelievably smooth and creamy. Like going from dark coffee to espresso. Fantastic.

Give this one a little bit of time to warm up for an even more complex experience. Coffee and maple syrup nose. Full, medium-heavy stout with strong coffee balanced by sweet hits of vanilla and constant maple syrup. Bourbon warmth finish. Cubs got claws!
