KBS Hazelnut (2022)

Stout - Imperial / Double

The perfectly balanced and decadent drinking experience of KBS meets the classic taste of hazelnut. Taking this bourbon barrel-aged stout to a new level, KBS Hazelnut allows the existing premium coffee and chocolate notes to soar to new heights when accented by the nutty sweetness of hazelnut.

Great stuff! Smooth, roasty, butty, dark chocolate, and not too sweet to me, always nice to try a new version of KBS!

The hazelnut helps balance the coffee and chocolate notes. Super rich and boozy stout. Try a sip or two.

Hazelnut coffee with dark malt and bourbon barrel. Extra points for not being too sweet.

Aroma of hazelnut coffee, with a roasty bitterness on the finish. Decent flavor, but seems to be lacking any barrel character.

According to my bio sheet, this beer is from my home state of Michigan. It’s an Imperial Stout that was brewed with hazelnut coffee and chocolate and then aged in bourbon barrels. No secret Cobra military bases will be built in my home state on my watch.

Nice nutty taste with coffee undertones. The barrel aged finishes the over taste. A solid brew. Founders came through again.
