KBS Hazelnut (2022)

Stout - Imperial / Double

The perfectly balanced and decadent drinking experience of KBS meets the classic taste of hazelnut. Taking this bourbon barrel-aged stout to a new level, KBS Hazelnut allows the existing premium coffee and chocolate notes to soar to new heights when accented by the nutty sweetness of hazelnut.

Hazelnut is there of course but it goes into a chalky, wooden territory as well. The flavors hide a bit of the booze but it could use some sweetness.

Not really like fully developed yet to me. I can taste the coffee I can taste the hazelnut off the bat but it's watery after chocolate is there not a real body to it though needs to be aged more for it to hit home.

Bitter hazelnut x bitter coffee = bitter drinker. A veritable drain pour

Heavy on the hazelnut, which tasted to me like the extract. And pretty hot with the booze too. Not exactly subtle, except for maybe how the coffee blended in. That can be OK.

There's a lot going on in this glass. Smells like chocolate and hazelnuts. Chocolate start to the taste and coffee finish with a creamy mouth feel. Sweet to bitter. I will save these for cooler weather. It's like Christmas in a glass.

Aroma of hazelnut coffee, with a roasty bitterness on the finish. Decent flavor, but seems to be lacking any barrel character.

Big hazelnut, kinda overpowering for me. If you love hazelnut then this is for you. Roasty base with coffee and only a hint of chocolate.

Not feeling the love as much as others here--hot take alert; hazelnut massive to the detriment of coffee & other trad flavors; less chewy as well, smoothness almost an idol au currant; barreling almost forgotten as well--brewing by committee?

Hint of hazelnut. Flavors are good, but tastes strong like the bourbon barrel and can tell its 12%

Bør drikkes tæt på stuetemp. Ellers alt for tynd. Starter fint med balanceret nød, kaffe og chokolade i næse og smag. Et eller andet i mixet der dog ikke helt spiller(for mig). Fadet udebliver endnu engnag.

Hazelnut and roasty but not getting any barrel. Solid burn. Needs more chocolate notes or something. Just not very good. Thanks Ryan M.
