Roasty-toasty malt nose. Big rich layered malts: nutty, roasty, toasty, caramel. Red-malt influences, not much very dark. Very subtle smoke. Rounded and mouthcoating, and lingers quite gently. Very nicely put together. A lovely autumnal beer.

Classic and classy. Nice woody and cherry notes. Malty but not brash. Earthy and well in balance with a mild leathery fade.

Carmel malt to a burnt dry taste. Like a brown ale with a scotch finish.

Not my first sip of “Dirty Bastard” Scotch style ale from Founders Brewing, Grand Rapids, Michigan … but my first since I started Untappd’ing, so here goes. A good and satisfying sip, and a good accompaniment to some pumpkin cookies. Salud! 🍺

Solid caramel, nice maltiness. But the hoppiness gave it an odd note. Interesting, drinkable but not a favorite. My beloved did not care for it.
