Backwoods Bastard

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate. Distribution Note: Now available year-round beginning April of 2018.

I know it’s not noon yet but it is Saturday. Love this beer. Tastes expensive but even I can afford it. Sweet, malty, and bourbony. Delicious!

Sweet, bourbon flavors shine through the other dark, rich and well rounded beer. Outstanding beer

Heel volle smaak.

Desprende notas ahumadas,

been over 5 years since i've had this one, so nice to revisit it. picking up an odd umami kelp-y/seaweed-y note in the aroma but otherwise probably one of the best easily-accessible BBA beers. tons of smoky caramel bourbon flavour, zero alcohol presence

Complex taste of coffee, whisky and oak, first barrel aged beer I tried, a little overpowering but nice to sip slowly

I miss the old Backwoods Bastard, this doesn’t have nearly the flavor of the OG. Formerly my favorite beer, now I could take it or leave it.
