Barrel-aged barleywine ale w/ ginger, cinnamon and clove. Notes of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, oak and vanilla. A bourbon barrel aged holiday flavor explosion. Strong! 12.8% ABV

Intense, good flavors, but too boozy and fuel-y at the end

Over spiced for my taste and a far cry from the best Barleywines I’ve had…

Sweet ale aroma. Carbonated overly sweet malty caramel ale.

Not quite what I was expecting. The ginger sort of just stands there on the tongue followed by some pepper. Not a combination I’m particularly a fan of, just seems there was so much more that could have been done.

Whoa, pounded in the face by spices. Neat sipper. Glsd to try.

I will try it again when it is colder and see if my opinion changes

Too much ginger for me right now… these will definitely need to mellow

Dumped it. Needs to age. Thought it was a stout. Disappointed

Aggressive amounts of clove and ginger. Like drinking boozy pickled ginger

Super heavy ginger, a little bitter, a little sweet.

Zero barleywine character. I would have guessed an imperial spiced ale because spice (ginger, cinnamon, clove) is what dominates in flavor. Despite being sweet and bearing little resemblance to a barleywine, it is not awful but definitely not recommended.

I prefer my Barleywine like I like my women....Aged, Dark, with a little burn on the backend. This pastriochroty is a barrel full of meh, with heaps of spices. I'll age one and see if it's not worth flushing in a few months.

A bit too much for me… I enjoy the complexity of it, but I’m glad I grabbed a sampler of it. A lot of clove. Pallet crusher.
