The grapefruit is the center of this beer, its tastes like freshly squeezed juice. The tartness doesn’t fade.

Distant Memory Hazy Ipa Edwards
Tasty hazy, full flavor with low citric but high on juice. New hop really gives a slight twist to this style.

MI Pilsner (MI P1LSNER) Edwards
I don’t think classic should mean ordinary. This is a good beer and enjoyable, slight sweetness, but needs a little more crispness I think.

Savage Sand West Coast IPA Edwards
It is as advertised. West coast piney and smooth.

Ginger, Spice, Barreled And Nice Edwards
Not quite what I was expecting. The ginger sort of just stands there on the tongue followed by some pepper. Not a combination I’m particularly a fan of, just seems there was so much more that could have been done.

One of my favorites!!! Got it this year, some years I miss. But, this year on draft from brewery.

Malty with a dry finish. Smooth and creamy. Tiny bit of vegetal from the hop.

A good hazy, ripe with citrus and slight melon, but seems to be lacking a brightness that separates a really very good hazy from the mediocre.

The profile checks are all there for a Belgian, however I’m missing the candy sweetness.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Edwards
Strong malt with coffee and chocolate, slight toffee lingers.

Breakfast Stout (2017) Edwards
Solid, much more of the oatmeal quality still evident.

QUARTER LIFE CRISIS - FOUNDERS 25TH ANNIVERSARY BEER Edwards
Complex. Strong caramel, vanilla with a hint of cinnamon. Bitter malt and sweet finish.

First sip-mango stone fruit with a slight hop bite. The bigger drink brings about tropical with stone fruit. Lighter drinking, and drier finish, than expected for 7% ABV

The marzen style compliments the bourbon barrel aspects. The sweetness and slight heat makes this a drinking beer without any depth. Not a bad thing in my mind. Finishes with some Caramel.

French Toast Bastard (2019) Edwards
This is a wonder of maple brown sugary goodness and yes a touch of egg-like and breadiness which helps nail the French toast similarity. No alcohol burn, but the finish has a slight flat coke caramel, that I don’t care for

I know it’s a session, but it still needs some flavor. Not clear if being a cold IPA is a plus for the series.

Backwoods Bastard (2022) Edwards
Smoother than the aged versions, Carmel pushes out with a chocolate plum finish. This is great! I wouldn’t age this one.

Backwoods Bastard (2016) Edwards
The oak is definitely more prominent. The flavor balance is much more drinkable. Probably the longest it should be aged??

Backwoods Bastard (2015) Edwards
More chocolate and bourbon up front finishing sort of dull malty. Better than the aged 2014.

Backwoods Bastard (2014) Edwards
Not as sweet, but a touch of cinnamon at the end. Gave it a 4.5 at the time, but I’m lowering this go around.

Mothership #22 Peachy Trouble Edwards
A little “hot” and heavy with the peach being discovered on the later end. It’s almost an unsweetened mango flavor.

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Edwards
Strong fruit on the nose that’s enticing. Moving to the taste, we’ll it’s pretty much covered on the label. Surprisingly, at only 6 month from bottling there is hardly any booziness, in fact the smooth drinking makes it an appealing experience!

Don’t normally drink in the morning, but sharing beers with my friend Andrew living in Japan. This one is as advertised, but seems to lack “soul”. I taste everything in the profile, but the barrel age on this one seems more formality than necessary?

Up front piney and citrus, it does have an enjoyable bitterness that makes it a finish that begs for a quick follow up drink.

Backwoods Bastard (2014) Edwards
Aged well. Premier beer. Not boozy at this stage.

The piney aspect actually comes across more pithy and dry. Slight hop fruit underneath the malt. Curious as to how this would age.

Underground Mountain Brown (2020) Edwards
Dark chocolate flavor with slight bitterness. Alcohol burn, thinking this will fade as it warms.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) Edwards
Thick and heavy fudge with a sweet finish. Not multi level. Good dessert beer.

Resins on top of resins. Tropical, but not overwhelming.

World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged Edwards
Shared with friends...doesn’t get any better

Not much aroma, the flavor reminds me of the gel in a cherry fruit pie. Not as sweet, of course, slight, slight tart on the finish.

Totally smooth. This is a special beer. The finish is sweet and makes it.

Smooth. Nice balance of stone fruit and yes barrel wood. No bite that I remember from the first time. Aged well.
