Curmudgeon Old Ale

Old / Stock Ale

Brewed with molasses and a focus on malts, then oak-aged. The result is a strong, rich delight that’s deceptively smooth and drinkable.

I've been craving this since a few months after BetterHalf came out, when finding it became obscure. Getting kicked out now! WTF! Staffing

"Aged" since 2015, this is definitely a zinger, very boozy but smooth-ish finish

Cripes this is boozy. Big molasses, raisin, vanilla, bit of coffee notes too. Sweet finish. 2016 bottle.

Very malty early on. Fades away to a molasses sweetness. Not as much oomph as the Other Half. But the Other half ages for 250+ days. It has an oaky, action. A full mouthfeel. I give it a 6/10 on the hairiness scale.

Missed my flight so what better place to wait in Grand Rapids than Founders tap room? I’m doing a side by side of curmudgeon and curmudgeon’s better half...mix the two and it’s ideal...

Insanely sweet, yet well supported and not cloying. Lots of oak tannins and just a kiss of hops in the finish. As always, this is so good!

Never had anything like it. Sweet but far from a stout. Molasses citrus and oak. Sounds odd but works.

Sweet...and strong. Like me!!! lol Seriously this IS a strong ale with plenty of flavor. Definately on the sweet side and you know if you keep drinking it you'll have to get yourself off the floor at the end of the night.
