Green Zebra

Sour - Fruited Gose

Subtly sour and a little sweet, this ale is a refreshing take on a nearly extinct German style, gose. Watermelon is the highlight of this lightly-hopped treat and gives it a hint of satisfying juiciness. The soft mouthfeel and dry finish comes courtesy of the addition of sea salt, a traditional gose ingredient.

A tiny sour, more sweet, with some sea salt.

Can't pick up anything on the nose. Taste is "fruity". The watermelon is not distinguishable. The saltiness does pull the flavors forward on your palate. Not too sour. Definitely a refreshing beer that would pair well with hot weather.

Upon my first sip I thought I smelled feet. The smell and taste of feet only got stronger as the beer warmed— the actual taste and after taste was nice but the nose was ghastly.

Sweet-sour nose with sweet opening burst and a sour close. Not sure what fruit flavor is carrying the load? Marita says she’ll have more than one so it gets a 3.75

The watermelon rolls into prominence on what seems like a ribbon of Jolly Rancher watermelon juice thicker than the beer around it. That ribbon works dynamically w/ the beer’s mild brine. One of those goses that reminds me about a little bit of salt.
