.@DogfishBeer Caramel, butterscotch, toffee, malty, hop bite, smooth. Delicious!!! It's been so long, I forgot who gave this to me. Thanks William W.? Dan O.? I'm traded for this and a few other @DogfishBeer beers maybe for a BT? Drinking the cellar!

At 11 years old, this was surprisingly far from the worst 120-chug I've done. Still wasn't enjoyable by any means, but maybe 10+ years is it's "semi-sweet spot" 🤷🏻♂️

getting barley wine flavors. Was fun to try next to the 2016 one. Age truly does affect the taste!

Not bad at all... definitely in American Barleywine territory now. Still could go for more years.

Didn't realize this was 2011 or would have drank sooner. Still good but 11 years is bit too long.

Found a few of these stashed away for science. Bready, caramel, golden raisins

Definitely some oxidation here as evidenced by the really dark color. still carbed well. Smells like one would expect a ~11yr old Barleywine to smell. Hops faded, lot of malt sweetness. The ~18% is definitely well hidden after this extended aging.

We bought at the source in Rehoboth Beach (out of range now). Had once before, pre-Untappd. Nothing like an IPA. Bailey's mouth feel, bourbon taste. Wow.

Dayum, 10 years transformed this into a completely different beer. Dark, sweet, sugary (heavy on molasses flavors) English-style barleywine vibes. That said, a bit of a hot mess for that style. FLN. RIP, Sharp Edge

Big notes of caramel and honey with a slightly boozy finish.

A friend gave me this 10 year old 120. Asked if I thought it would still be good. Indeed it has aged well!

I can no longer tell this once had tons of hops, but it's still pretty good

Happy Delaware Day! On Dec. 7, 1787, the Legislative Council unanimously approved the Constitution, making Delaware the first state. The site of the vote is this current building. To celebrate, I went to the cellar and opened this 10-year old beer!

10 years aged, a gift from an old friend leaving for the sunshine state. What a great beer to enjoy the first day off in 13 (Lucky number I guess) still damn good now deceptively strong.

10 years. Incredible. Nice little sweetness to it and wasn’t as heavy as I originally had thought.

Reached ten years of bottle maturity last month on the 19th, I'm a little late to its birthday party. Smells more malty, caramel, toffee, faint hops, no sign of them, sickly sweet barley, muted hops on the taste. Transformed from a triple IPA > barleywine

This was superbbbb got a little taste of this, and now I can’t wait to open my 2008 bottle.

Bottled in 2011. Sweet, the hops are gone along with the alcohol finish, it's like a really good brandywine. Wow, if you have some 120, age it, it's worth it.

This is not an ipa anymore. Pretty sure it's even beyond anything I've ever drank.

Slightly sweet with a great strong abv. Aged woody flavor of toffee. Amazing flavors just sit on the tounge

Bottled 9/19/2011 - Almost 10 years young. Still has a light carb and the booze are still present. Nice delicious raisin and tasty 120 classic malt build. First Beer in new house, thought it needed to be something special!

Held up suprisingly well and pretty damn good. Like a slightly heavier hopped non-BA BW or strong ale. More malty than dark fruit.

About to crack this old boy open. After holding onto it for 11 years, wish me luck!

10-year-old beer for National Beer Day! Still tasting great. Vinous, fruity, tannic, and barleywine-like.
