Burton Baton

Historical Beer - Burton Ale

An oak-aged, gentle giant. Two "threads," or batches, of beer — an English-style old ale and an imperial IPA — are brewed and, after separate fermentation in stainless tanks, are transferred and blended together in large oak tanks.

De basale smaak is OK, maar wow wat een extreme wrange laag zit er overheen. Dit maakt de ervaring (als iemand die niet zo'n wiskey fan is) een onaangename verassing. Heb met Sander geruild voor eentje uit zijn tasting flight.

Thick, like someone you would pick up at the bar. You know it’s going to be a good time. From the first time you lips touch, sparks of the subtle carbonation open your palette, followed by sweets, florals, and of course hops. Clean good time without STDs.

Very strong, and I don’t taste the oak, but it’s not bad.

Vintage 2008. What?!? An old ass Imperial IPA? Nope. An old ass oak aged 10% ABV Imperial IPA. Any hops left? You kidding? Smells like oak and tastes like oak. Oaky with bready caramel malts, a quick splash of vanilla, a hint of orange peel, and alcohol.

Strong body, heady notes, boozy and fun. More drinkable than straight booze but meets it halfway!
