Burton Baton

Historical Beer - Burton Ale

An oak-aged, gentle giant. Two "threads," or batches, of beer — an English-style old ale and an imperial IPA — are brewed and, after separate fermentation in stainless tanks, are transferred and blended together in large oak tanks.

Tasty. Great oak nose. Medium body. Not boozy. Interesting. Complex flavors. Friend says it is a aged a couple years but no date on the bottle.

It's got that good wooden sorta taste you get when you take a bite of the burnt part of a really good wood fired pizza. Super sweet too, like candy. Here at the HueJasss page we are the most accurate beer review page, I got you.

Not bottled, and just exclusive to the Tasting room for now. A burton ale blended with an imperial IPA, and then aged in oak barrels.

The barrel definitely tames the hops. Very oaky sweet.

Or in this case, the IPA of Christmas Past. Really glad I stocked up on this one before Dogfish Head stopped brewing it, and I hope they bring it back!
