Midas Touch

Historical Beer - Other

This sweet yet dry beer is made with ingredients found in 2,700-year-old drinking vessels from the tomb of King Midas. Somewhere between beer, wine and mead, Midas will please the chardonnay and beer drinker alike.

From RB. Sweetish malty aroma. A weak aroma. The flavor is sweetness, dry maltiness, and some cidery notes. The 9% is almost unnoticeable but it warms nicely.

Bottled 2020. Have cellared this for at least 3 years. Floral & herbaceous aroma with some honey. Tastes gruit-like with honey, herbaceous & floral notes. Still drinking ok.

The aroma is great. Lots of honey. Not the beer to slug down. Sip and savor. Impressive for a 5 year old beer.

Fantastic beer with a great honey nose and taste but much better than mead. This bottle was 5+ years old as it was bottled 2/25/19. Amazing!

Feels like a sour with a tiny bit of legs. Tart and bready, a lot of fruit flavor.

Dessert time with “Midas Touch” ancient ale from Dogfish Head Brewery, Milton, Delaware. My first sip of an ‘ancient ale’ … need to explore, learn some more. Salud! 🍺

A truly unique concoction. Aroma is of sweet honey and white grapes, closer to a mead than a beer. Pours a clear golden yellow capped with a minimal white head. The mouthfeel is soft, ending with a minty zing and long sweet honey and juniper berry fade
