Kept In Suspense C

A keptinis! This is roasty, bready & caramelly, a bit light bodied & finishes dry. The raw ale character underpins the roast & caramel notes. Unusual, interesting & well done. Thanks, Sam & DFH for brewing this off-centered Lithuanian farmhouse ale.

Signor Imperiale C

Finishing the crowler on the deck as daylight fades. Now that the crowler has warmed, the floral, citrus & Saaz spicy notes are more pronounced. Here’s to the end of a lovely day of babysitting our grandson.

Tableau C

A perfect beer for a warm afternoon. It’s light bodied with a touch of lemon & light peppery note that point to mixed fermentation & rye.

60 Minute IPA C

Even in Logan airport one can find this ubiquitous Delaware beer. Hits the spot before wedding travel.

Oloroso Barrel-Aged Olde School Barleywine C

Just lovely. Sherry notes marry well with the maltiness of the base beer.

Midas Touch C

Bottled 2020. Have cellared this for at least 3 years. Floral & herbaceous aroma with some honey. Tastes gruit-like with honey, herbaceous & floral notes. Still drinking ok.

Oloroso Barrel-Aged Olde School Barleywine C

Aroma of sherry & toffee. Starts with sherry followed by toffee & dried fruits with alcohol & walnuts showing up in the finish. Smooth, malty & potent. Happy this is a small pour but sad that I don’t have time to finish this.

Wake Up World Wide Stout C

Pours a deep dark brown with an aroma of coffee. Tastes rich & smooth with coffee, chocolate & roasted notes, has a touch of balancing sweetness. Some alcohol is noticeable in the finish, which is not surprising given how big this beer is. Thanks, Wade!

This Is Ridiculous C

This is a tasty farmhouse ale. Has an aroma of funk & hay. Tastes funky with green apples, clear Brett character, tart. Low carbonation quickly dissipates. #farmhousefriday

Catchy Chorus C

This is citrusy, has a little sweetness mid-palate that ends in a dry finish. Enjoying a DFH beer I can’t find in MA.

Citrus Squall C

An imperial fruited golden ale. Aroma of grapefruit & lime, taste is similar with salt & a mid-palate sweetness (from the agave nectar?) but dries out in the finish. This grandfather is toasting today’s arrival of a beautiful grandson and his parents!

Snowball Saison (Aged in White Wine Barrels) C

Enjoying lack of evening teleconferences after a crazy workday. Bottle of unknown age, but I really dig this. Saison base is evident, get lemongrass, oak, white wine & a little funk with some underlying grain support & a dry finish.

4 Giants IPA C

Love the bracing bitterness of an old school DIPA. This is fruity with grapefruit & mango, caramel sweetness and a whole lot of pine resin that lingers for days.

Mango Smoovie C

Tart with notes of mango, vanilla with some zesty carbonation, lactose is evident. Base beer seems solid and better than expected, but taster is enough.

Big Worster C

This is sweet & fruity, a bit viscous, ABV is pretty well hidden for such a big beer. Not sure how old this is but best by date on cal is 18/08/26.

Årh Hvad (2015) C

Getting ready for an evening of document revisions. Assuming 2025 date on cap is best before date. Funky aroma, tastes funky with apple & pepper support, horse blanket, astringent finish.

12" Winale C

Interesting brew - floral nose, tastes of grapes with a slightly sweet backbone of apricot & perfume bouquet that is almost gruit like. Finishes drier than expected with lingering floral notes. A nice evening pre-teleconference sipper.
