Much sweeter compared to the floral I expected, with surprisingly strong, off-putting bitterness to follow.

Yippee ki-yay Advent #17! This is an acceptable winterized pale ale, but nothing too crazy, despite the photographic theme for which I was hoping to go.

This is the 2023 iteration and it is still a joy to drink. Beautifully clear amber colour, with that piney, resinous and hoppy character front, middle and finish. The grist gets out of the way and makes this a lovely brew, even for winter.

Wow might hit the top 10 of the year. That spruce has some nice notes!

Last time I had this it was in a bottle. I liked it then, I like it now. I enjoy the citrusy piney thing going on.

Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Well balanced with a fairly subtle fresh, piney finish. Not like a West Coast IPA, though.
