120 Minute IPA (2016)

IPA - Imperial / Double

Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45-degree plato, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month & aged for nother month on whole-leaf hops!!! Our 120 Minute I.P.A. is by far the biggest I.P.A. ever brewed! At 20% abv and 120 ibus you can see why we call this beer THE HOLY GRAIL for hopheads!

Just had this back-to-back with an ‘09. Surprising how much milder this one is.

Logging this again, 8 years later. Mmmmm doggie. A bit more acidic than I remember, with the boozy burn without the boozy taste. A touch of honey and about 46 different flavors, hop profiles, and emotions. Like a fine wine, 120 improves with age!

Mellowed out 120. The boozy taste is gone, not the burn. Absolutely delicious with a little honey hint.

Meant to have this in July but that's okay, this is still a banger for being a 2016

Not bad. More like a barley wine.

Bottled 4/8/16. 8years later. Kinda flat. I actually like it more now than fresh. Drinks like a hoppy barleywine.

Not a ton of flavor left on the front end. Some caramel and dates on the back end. Good carbonation and mouthfeel left on it

More of a barleywine than an ipa but for being 8 years old…tons of character and smooth as hell. As the label says, does age well!

If every American Barleywine was this good…wait, that’s no barleywine! Best 120 ever, and my last of that vintage 😎

Either this has aged great or I have! I love this and am really enjoying it. Sweet and super smooth. I don’t find it too boozy though others do. 8 years tastes great!
