Family game night. Great time to enjoy this 6 year old gem.

Maybe a bit more caramel maltiness in this year, but still every bit of a big barleywine in spirit 🤤

One of very few IPAs that I'll age. Somehow still a booze bomb. Have another '16 for the "decade or so" aging recommendation on the label.

Needed a strong one tonight. Been a LONG week already, ugh.

Smooth, no bite, stout-like, malty with a plum tongue.

We dont get many sharks in Colorado, but when we do, they're tasty AF. 🍻

Malty sweetness up front and dries up towards the end of each sip. Almost a smoky oaky thing happening. Still a touch of bitterness, pretty sure this beer can age way longer. Definitely in Barleywine territory now. Happy 120th day of the year.

This might be the 2018 version. Couldn’t tell by the date on the bottle. It’s old at any rate, and still very good

Hitting that sweet spot! This isn’t an IPA anymore. It’s bwizzle.

aged well. still a hop bite, but malt is coming through

Interesting. Hoppiness faded a bit (doesn't taste like 120 IBU), soft. Honey notes up front, turning to mild pine resin, then finishing on white grape/raisin. I'm really digging the layers on this one.

Just had this back-to-back with an ‘09. Surprising how much milder this one is.

Shared this on Memorial Day with some family. Aged for a long time

Bottled 07/14/16. And this is one of two gems I found today! The years have been kind to this. Little to no carbonation, got pretty sweet for such a big boy too.

Never been a fan of these fresh, put 4 years on em and I’m game!

Unbelievably smooth. Would not think it’s as strong as 120. Picture what you know about 120, but in that context.

Aged bottle (4/12/16). Strong raisin/caramel notes present. Hops have faded but still nicely compliment the punch of the alcohol.

A long time ago, when our friendship was nascent, Gabe Hattaway and I were talking about beer revelations and he told a story of a vertical of aged 120 minute. To that point I’d only ever had it fresh. Yes, my friend, four years makes this beer awesome!
