Figs, dates and stone fruit. Wonderful and high liquor notes with a good touch of the utopias. When you realize your coming up on 15th highschool reunion you drink..

Has a bite but a smooth finish. Definitely can taste the barrel age. Delicious!

Not really sure what the hype is about. Starts thin and woody, then a hit of bitter dark chocolate, and then finishes kinda dry and boozy. Slight toffee sweetness if I really look for it. Maybe modern pastry stouts have ruined me but this is a miss.

Damn good. Strong as hell. Worth the price and wait...

Special. Difficult to describe. Almost like port wine. 17.3% is no joke. Tucking the rest of these bottles away for a while.

Feel the burn, the BA taste hits you upfront, lingers throughout the the taste and Lingers on beyond. Pure BA beer for sipping.

I believe this is 2020 version, but the date code is confusing. Boozy and thinner than expected, but at 17%, not bad. Took an hour to sip on this. Oak, Caramel, chocolate booze. Paired well with Chocolate Kisses.

This idea of this beer is ridiculous...but it's so good. Perfect fireside sipper!

Port BA, roasted malts, velvety, pretty nice as this warms up. Vikings beating the pack, we'll blow it, rest assured.

Back in 2018 I had the privilege of trying the actual Sam Adams Utopias beer. I remember finding it interesting but overall it was overwhelmingly sherry-wine. This stout however, amplifies all the good notes I enjoyed in Utopias

Malty / old ale nose w hints of musky coca. Palatte is an obnoxiously boozy oak burst followed by a charred center and a tannic and caramel finish. It's... Fun? Interesting? Well made, and artful but... Lacking the balance needed to achieve "excellence"
