Hardcore Craft Beer

Picking up a lot of Utopias barrels. Nice mix of the stout and the barrels. Really solid beer

Tis boozy. Let’s not ignore this. And it certainly retains its roasty WWS flavor but I’m searching to find some of that utopias in there and it’s not jumping out, more likely from barrel character than beer influence. But still a sipper and a thinker.

For whatever reason putting WWS in some type of barrel makes a fresh batch of it insanely enjoyable.

On the list of barreled WWS variants, this is not a favorite. I had tempered expectations, but maybe more barrel time was needed? Hear our thoughts on Episode 364 of @cbcast here: http://craftbeercast.com/?p=2199

Heavy upfront barrel flavor and then disappears as it goes down. 🤔

Decadently black, smooth, thick bodies and warm in the palette. Low foam and lacing, definite moderate alcohol burn, rich array of caramel, vanilla, American oak, maple syrup and roast. Finished moderately bitter and semi sweet dark chocolate.
