East Side of the West Side

IPA - American

Warm up the Mazda RX-7 and throw some Cube on the Alpine 'cuz we have the perfect beer for all your TBT feels! East Side of the West Side is a throwback to the days of clear IPA, brewed with crystal malt and old-school hop varieties like Cascade & Centennial. We had to dust off the filter and bust out the User Manual, but we managed to make a beer you can read through. Crazy, right? It got a robust nose of grapefruit, pine and hints of toffee and a rich, full mouthfeel with enough bitterness to balance the sweet caramel maltiness of this classic West Coast IPA.

Very long and odd description (so DFH) of what is basically an IPA IPA. When your friend says "I don't like IPAs" this is the beer they mean. Great

Starts out like a clear IPA with a slight piney taste and finishes with a nice caramel malt, but neither is super strong.

Toffee and caramel are the prevailing flavors here, which surprised me. There’s bitterness on the finish, but the hop freshness is buried.
