Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA

IPA - American

The Holy Grail for hopheads, 120 Minute IPA is continuously hopped with a copious amount of high-alpha American hops throughout the boil and whirlpool, aged in Sam Adams Utopias barrels for a full twelve months, and then abundantly dry-hopped.

well, i was hoping for more very drinkable... smooth for 17% a.b.v , but at $9/ bottle, i expected more. i recommend it, but doubt I'll buy a 2nd 4pack.

Pretty much a Barleywine at this point. Much better than OG 120 Minute

Good grief. Intensely flavorful, boozy, rich and dessert like. Lots of barrel complexities swirl - oak, vanilla, tannins, rum raisin, brown sugar. Dense. Tough to drink much of - but this is quite tasty. Proceed with caution, but try if you can.

Very drinkable, but definitely runs a little hotter. Notes of toffee

4.35 more like a barrel aged Barleywine than an ipa, which I am all for.

Utopia barrel aged definitely gives it a much different flavor profile. Sweet & smooth.

Absolutely delicious, but it leans a bit on the sweet side for me. I love the regular 120 a bit better. 2nd from the left.

It is an exceptional brew, rich in flavors of caramel, toffee, and dark fruit. Smooth, warming, and complex - it's a must try!

Tastes a lot like mead…it’s really good but fairly confusing to parse out. That barrel makes it wild.

Good stuff! Fig, caramel, & suggestion of apple brandy immediately hit the nose. Taste presents BIG toasted caramel caramel, distinct dried apricot, & a more subtle touch of raisin, w/ robust, vanilla-forward oak & lesser sherry joining mid-palate.

Wow the barrel aging really makes the 120 minute beer more drinkable. Sweeter, more boozy, and not crazy bitter. 4oz is plenty
