Dela-We-Are

IPA - Rye

Dela-We-Are is a statewide collaboration beer aimed at raising funds and awareness for the Delaware Brewers Guild. Our offering doubles down on the Delaware pride using malt produced here in the First State along with our favorite bagels from our favorite bagel shop Surf Bagel. Chopped pumpernickel bagels are blended with malted rye, black wheat malt and sweet, caramelly crystal rye malt kneading up a base for copious amounts of spicy, citrussy hops, caraway seeds and black pepper.

Very toasty, not hoppy, smooth, nice mouth feel. Delicious!

Not my style, but that is not a reason to down rate a beer. Crisp flavor, kind of like a porter, but not. Kind of like a stout, but then again, not. It is an intriguing ale that is complex and inviting, if you like that sort of thing.

Roasty and spicy black IPA. DFH continues to go it’s own way.

Black IPA (?) brewed w/pumpernickel bagels from Surf Bagel blended w/malted rye, black wheat malt, and crystal malt. Spicy citrus hops, caraway seeds, and black pepper. Solid effort.
